MV ALTEA: GBP £48,000

549 TON CARGO VESSEL: Built 1962. In 1967 the vessel was rebuilt and lengthened to 56.86m, GRT: 499 and DWT: 549 by de Groot & van Viet.

The vessel has consistantly been maintained with approximately £100,000 being spent.
The most recent maintenance works were carried out in Feburary 2013, totaling OVER £67,000. This maintenance work included a high pressure wash to the underwater area, hard scrape and remove marine growth. Further to this the surfaces were mechanically prepared for painting. 2 x 40% touch up coats were applied along with 2 full coats to underwater areas. The topside surfaces received similar treatment with 2 x 20% touch ups and 2 full coats. The draft marks were also repainted. In addition to the painting electrical testing and repairs were carried out throughout the vessel along with health and safety signage fitted.

Built 1972. Single cargo hold.Carries 400 tonne. Fitted with McGregor hold covers. Scania 8 cylinder engine with very few hours. 3 cylinder Lister generator coupled with ballast pump (all fully serviced). Twin cylinder Lister anchor/windlass (again all fully serviced). All ballast pipe vents on deck have been renewed. Sounding pipes and breather pipes to double bottom bunker tanks also all renewed. All accommodation has been recently rebuilt.Accommodation comprises of two single cabins, one double cabin, mess room with galley and toilet/shower room. All wheelhouse equipment (auto pilot, radar, chart plotters etc) have all been renewed. Has just been slipped and had two coats primer, two coats antifouling and new anodes.
